Jacobson: Doughnut? Not while I'm on the job
It has been nearly eight years since the first -- and likely the last -- time in my life in which I refused the offer of a doughnut.
I became a journalist because I find writing enjoyable. And nothing is more entertaining to me than making people laugh. I write a monthly humor column in which I make fun of myself, my dogs and, occasionally, current events.
While it's mostly for my own amusement, I must be doing something right. In 2018 I was named a Master Columnist by the Iowa Newspaper Association.
