Remembering those we lost

One of the most important and emotionally satisfying parts of my job is helping honor and memorialize people in the community who have passed away. Few things are more raw than the emotions of the recently bereaved. But I've learned that by sharing memories of their loved ones with our readers, family members and friends take comfort in knowing those stories will live on.

Those interviews consistently rank among the most difficult conversations I have. But they're also the most important.

If you need help crafting an obituary, I'll be there to walk you through the process. I'll arrange phone or emailed interviews in which you can share as much -- or as little -- as you'd like. Then, with your input, I'll craft a story that can be published in your local newspaper or funeral home website.
